If I could give this place 6 stars I would! The perfect little corner bistro only about a mile from my house. Quaint and quiet place, you can park your car on the street right outside the window of the restaurant.I took my wife there for her birthday recently. The place is clean, well decorated, and the staff is really nice. Not that overbearing nice either, just the right amount of concern for you. They have quite a few fish choices, but I got the filet mignon. My wife for scallops with risotto. The food was absolutely great, one of the most well flavored/well cooked steaks that I have had in a while. Better than steaks that I have had at Ruth Chis. My wife’s risotto was great as well. Price and portions were just right. If I had one complaint it would be that there were way too many specials. When the waitress rattled them off I lost focus at about number 5. Maybe they need to pair that down a bit
First visit, but it won’t be my last. Lovely evening. Service a bit over-solicitous, presentation lovely, food delicious, but next time I will try something other than the calves liver. Everything else was superb.
Thanks for the discount, too.
Very good food and very good service.I echo the comments of another reviewer about it being OK to bring kids, especially for lunch. They even have high chairs. The fixed price dinner is a good way to go, as it can get pricey. The escargot was especially memorable – not your typical garlic butter sauce, but a cream sauce.
Went today for lunch with 2 friends–1 has been before, and I trust her taste, so was happy to join them. What a delight! White glove service @ lunch, and delicious food to match. They both had salmon cake with roasted potatoes and sauteed spinach–I tried the salmon and potatoes, and they were both yummy. I had the soup of the day–tomato basil. No cream, but it was perfect–rich, creamy, smoky–just right. I ordered the oysters (lightly friend w/cornmeal) appetizer that came w/avocado mousse and a small mixed green salad. I wasn’t sure about avocado mousse, but it a light couli, and perfect with the oysters, which I totally enjoyed. That was enough for me, as well.
We had excellent coffee served by the owner, and I wish we’d had room for the cheesecake he told us he’d just made that morning–next time!
I live in Bethesda and am so tired by the crowds, the parking hassles and the mediocre restaurants (the good ones like Raku always have a line out the door), so it was a pleasure to find such a lovely bistro (a bit off the beaten track), but worth every bite!
Purchased the Yelp Groupon-like coupon of $20 worth of food for $10, and passed it on to friends. Lousy weather today, but not enough of us for lunch, so please try it out!
K Town Bistro is a small, intimate restaurant were you can actually have a conversation with your table mates and hear one another. I have been to K Town Bistro numerous times and have never been disappointed. In fact, I recently hosted my mother’s 90th birthday party there and every single person, including the teenagers, was very pleased with their meals. The staff is always friendly, gracious, and ready to accommodate and request. There is ample free parking in the area.
My wife and I have eaten here about 10 times now for lunch and dinner and we always enjoy it. You can easily be heard above the soft music and the staff is very attentive. The food is incredible for Kensington — try the oysters and the desserts. The owner is former headwaiter at The Watergate restaurant. We highly recommend KTown Bistro.

Excellent food. Excellent service. What more can I say?
Great atmosphere, good food and wine. The service was very personable. The Prix Fixe option before 6:30 is nice.
